For more than thirty years, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival has brought together music lovers and nature enthusiasts for an unforgettable weekend. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Planet Bluegrass Ranch in Lyons, Colorado, this beloved event, taking place August 7th-9th, features three days filled with music, camping, and inspiration.

 

With a great lineup of artists, including Jesse Welles, a musician recognized for his soulful voice and heartfelt guitar riffs. He mixes folk, rock, and indie styles, creating music that feels honest and tells real stories. Big Richard is an all-female bluegrass group celebrated for their high-energy shows, tight harmonies, and unique sound. The band started in Colorado and blends classic bluegrass with modern styles. Ani DiFranco is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and activist recognized for her independent approach and unique mix of musical styles. She combines folk, rock, punk, and jazz in her songs and has released more than twenty albums on her own label, Righteous Babe Records. 

 

Junior Brown, Valerie June, Steve Poltz, The Strumbellas, S.G. Goodman, Bobby Alu, Tommy Prine, and John McCutcheon add to the mainstage lineup with a mystery artist being revealed soon. The 53rd Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival will take place from June 18 to 21, 2026. Over four days, you’ll hear a great mix of artists, continuing the festival’s tradition of showcasing many styles inspired by bluegrass.

The 2026 lineup brings back festival favorites and introduces new talent. Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, will perform with their talented group. Shakey Graves will also take the stage, known for his soulful voice and one-man-band style with a suitcase drum and guitar. Greensky Bluegrass will take the stage as well, blending rock, folk, and improvisation into their energetic bluegrass shows.

Tent Camping: There are several tent campgrounds, and some are close enough to walk to the festival. These are great if you want to stay near the action and enjoy the lively camping atmosphere.

Vehicle & RV Camping: If you prefer to stay in your car, van, or RV, there are designated areas for that. These passes let you camp with your vehicle, giving you extra space and convenience.

Camping passes are sold separately from festival tickets and tend to sell out quickly. Just like with tickets, it’s best to get your camping pass early. If camping isn’t for you, Telluride and nearby Mountain Village have lots of places to stay, like hotels, condos, and vacation rentals.
