For more than thirty years, the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival has brought together music lovers and nature enthusiasts for an unforgettable weekend. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Planet Bluegrass Ranch in Lyons, Colorado, this beloved event, taking place August 7th-9th, features three days filled with music, camping, and inspiration.
With a great lineup of artists, including Jesse Welles, a musician recognized for his soulful voice and heartfelt guitar riffs. He mixes folk, rock, and indie styles, creating music that feels honest and tells real stories. Big Richard is an all-female bluegrass group celebrated for their high-energy shows, tight harmonies, and unique sound. The band started in Colorado and blends classic bluegrass with modern styles. Ani DiFranco is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and activist recognized for her independent approach and unique mix of musical styles. She combines folk, rock, punk, and jazz in her songs and has released more than twenty albums on her own label, Righteous Babe Records.
Junior Brown, Valerie June, Steve Poltz, The Strumbellas, S.G. Goodman, Bobby Alu, Tommy Prine, and John McCutcheon add to the mainstage lineup with a mystery artist being revealed soon. Music fans, mark your calendar for Rhythms on the Rio 2026, happening in Del Norte, Colorado, for four days, July 30th through August 2nd! This annual music festival, hosted by the South Fork Music Association (SFMA), is a movement to support music education for children in the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado.

Taking the stage for two sets, Leftover Salmon is a jam band from Boulder, Colorado, known for their fusion of bluegrass, rock, country, and Cajun influences. Thanks to their electric stage presence, Leftover Salmon is a mainstay in the festival circuit.
The Infamous Stringdusters are a Grammy-winning progressive bluegrass band with elements of rock, country, and jam-band improvisation. The group has established a distinctive niche in the modern acoustic music scene. Moontricks is known for their fusion of roots music and modern electronic beats. Their sound blends elements of folk, blues, and soul with bass-heavy production. Joining the stacked roster are other groups including The Brothers Comatose, Clay Street Unit, Big Something, Don Flemons & The Traveling Wildfires and many more!

Telluride Bluegrass Festival

Every summer in the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival brings together top musicians, a lively community, and stunning scenery. Save the dates—June 18-21, 2026—and join Blackspy for a weekend to remember.
The festival’s location is central to its charm. Set in a canyon among the San Juan Mountains, Telluride offers incredible views and fresh mountain air. The natural setting creates a unique atmosphere, making every performance sound even better.
The 53rd Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival will take place from June 18 to 21, 2026. Over four days, you’ll hear a great mix of artists, continuing the festival’s tradition of showcasing many styles inspired by bluegrass.
The 2026 lineup brings back festival favorites and introduces new talent. Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, will perform with their talented group. Shakey Graves will also take the stage, known for his soulful voice and one-man-band style with a suitcase drum and guitar. Greensky Bluegrass will take the stage as well, blending rock, folk, and improvisation into their energetic bluegrass shows.
Gregory Alan Isakov, Larkin Poe, Sam Bush Band, Flatland Cavalry, Punch Brothers, The Infamous Stringdusters, Watchhouse – Duo, Leftover Salmon, Sierra Hull, Jake Shimabukuro, Peter Rowan Walls of the Time Band, Chris Thile, AJ Lee & Blue Summit, East Nash Grass, Jason Carter & Michael Cleveland, Dom Flemings & The Traveling Wildfires, Alash, and Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light add to the stacked mainstage lineup. In addition to the main stage, the festival features intimate workshop performances and other smaller stages, giving you a chance to see artists in a different light.

After you get your tickets, the next thing to plan is where you’ll stay. Camping is a big part of the Telluride Bluegrass experience and lets you really join in with the festival community. There are several official campgrounds, each with its own feel.
Tent Camping: There are several tent campgrounds, and some are close enough to walk to the festival. These are great if you want to stay near the action and enjoy the lively camping atmosphere.
Vehicle & RV Camping: If you prefer to stay in your car, van, or RV, there are designated areas for that. These passes let you camp with your vehicle, giving you extra space and convenience.
Camping passes are sold separately from festival tickets and tend to sell out quickly. Just like with tickets, it’s best to get your camping pass early. If camping isn’t for you, Telluride and nearby Mountain Village have lots of places to stay, like hotels, condos, and vacation rentals.
